Biography
I am a Solicitor in the Court of Protection Department at Irwin Mitchell based in our Manchester Office.
In my role, I act on behalf of clients who have been assessed as lacking the mental capacity to manage their own property and financial affairs and have a Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. I am regularly involved in making applications to Court for the appointment of a professional or lay deputy, and subsequently in assisting with the delivery of Irwin Mitchell’s professional deputyship services.
I work closely with our litigation teams to support clients both pre and post settlement of their litigation claim. I engage in making ‘best interests’ decisions on behalf of clients, with the involvement of their families, and have a professional but compassionate input in to the management of damages awards and property and affairs.
I am also experienced in operating Professional Trusts for clients who have capacity to manage their affairs but seek some professional guidance and support.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I am very proud to work for Irwin Mitchell and to be a part of a culture which is focused on being the best we can be for our clients. As an employee of Irwin Mitchell, I feel valued, supported and encouraged. There is not much more I could ask for from a workplace.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Working with our inspirational clients and building strong and long-lasting professional relationships with them.
What do you do away from the office?
When I am not in the office, you will find me catching up on the latest reality TV boxset or out and about making the most of life. I am also partial to a tasty meal out on a Sunday evening before the working week starts again, but if I do that, you will find me working it off in the gym during my lunch break, only to undo it all again on Sunday…
