Biography
I am a solicitor in the Medical Negligence department in the Sheffield office. I have worked at Irwin Mitchell since 2018.
I act for patients who have experienced negligent medical care resulting in injury. I also act for families that have lost a loved one due to negligent treatment. I have experience dealing with a range of cases including:
- Inquests
- Neonatal deaths and stillbirths
- Delay in diagnosis of cancer
- Fatal claims
- Injuries caused during surgery
- Negligent mental health care and suicides
I have a special interest in inquest cases and fatal claims
I am also a member of the firm's diversity group, IM Equal, that supports LGBTQI+ colleagues and community.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
My colleagues are passionate about the work that they do. It's inspiring to work as part of a team that will go above and beyond to support each other to achieve the best results possible for our clients.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Being able to provide support to my clients through some of the most difficult times in their lives.
What inspired you to get into law?
My grandfather had asbestosis as a result of a failure by his employers to provide adequate protection and I would go with him as a teenager to meetings with his solicitor (at Irwin Mitchell!). I was inspired to help other injured people and deciding to pursue a career in law.
What do you do away from the office?
I have a very naughty dog that I enjoy taking on walks and hikes.
