Biography
I’m an Associate Solicitor in the Wills, Trusts and Estates Dispute team in our London office.
I assist clients with Trust, Will and Probate Disputes as well as claims for financial provision under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependants) Act 1975. I have worked on multiple complex family trust dispute matters involving: complex and high value estate disputes, suggestions of trustee negligence, re-settling trust funds into alternative structures, consideration of the tax implications of trust variations and, balancing the interests of familial and charitable trusts within one estate.
Prior to joining Irwin Mitchell, I was involved in the reported case of Wellesley v Wellesley & Ors [2019] EWHC 11 (Ch). This related to an estranged adult child’s application for financial provision out of her father’s estate.
I am a member of the Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists (ACTAPS), having successfully completed the ACTAPS Diploma Course. I am a member of ConTrA. I am also undertaking the STEP Contentious Probate Course and have joined the STEP special interest group for contentious trusts and estates. I have also written articles for the STEP Journal and the ThoughtLeaders4 Private Client Magazine, Contentious Trusts edition.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was always interested in training to become a solicitor. Working as a solicitor challenges me both academically and technically while allowing me to assist people with matters of great importance to them.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
It’s incredibly rewarding to be able to help people find a successful resolution to matters which can be emotional and difficult for them. Will, Trust and Estate Disputes deal with matters which are often emotive and personal, and being able to support clients through these disputes will always be rewarding.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The Wills, Trust and Estate Disputes Team at Irwin Mitchell provide an excellent service nationally, I like that at I am able to work within a large team and take advantage of the wealth of expert knowledge and experience that comes with it.
What do you do away from the office?
When I am away from the office I spend time with my family, I enjoy going to the theatre and to live music events. I love to cook (and eat) good food, and enjoy entertaining and being able to spend time hosting family and friends. I am also a keen skier and have been fortunate enough to enjoy ski trips across Europe.
