Biography
I am a senior associate solicitor specialising in all areas of private family law work. I am a Resolution Accredited Specialist in private children matters and matrimonial finance matters.
I'm experienced in dealing with financial matters, from modest asset to high-net-worth cases. I specialize in cases with hidden or non-disclosed assets, and have acted in many cases where these have been found after the original order.
If possible, I try to settle cases at an early stage to ensure my clients receive the maximum benefit from their settlement. When cases do go to court, I take a strategic and analytical approach to reach a settlement as soon as it's right to do so. Whatever each client’s situation may be, I am committed to fighting for the best outcome possible for all of my clients.
I'm also experienced in dealing with private children matters and child maintenance arrangements for unmarried parents.
I work very closely with Ros Bever and Nathaniel Groarke, especially on high net worth finances, matters with an international element and complex children matters.
What inspired you to get into law?
The law, and litigation in particular, always presents a new challenge. I thrive on finding solutions to new problems, and it is brilliant to be able to help others through doing so.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Making a difference to someone’s future – family law often touches people’s lives when they are at their most vulnerable. It’s my job to help people find a solution and to put them at ease moving forward.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The firm really does live by the 'expert hand, human touch' ethos. I am always really proud of that approach to client care, which I think sets us apart from other firms.
We see each client as an individual with different needs: one size does not fit all. We recognise that different clients need a different approach to manage all of their legal needs and protect them moving forward.
What do you do away from the office?
I am a huge ice hockey fan and can usually be found at an ice rink on a Saturday night. In warmer climates, I can usually be found scuba diving and I am a keen underwater photographer.
