Biography
I joined Irwin Mitchell’s Partner Hiring Team in February 2023 to assist with the firm’s ambitious growth; our aim is to target the UK’s leading legal talent.
Our focus is on delivering to the strategic growth plan, with the objective being responsible, sustainable and profitable growth of the Irwin Mitchell business. The team also seeks to engage stakeholders, those within the Irwin Mitchell business and the wider market on key topics such as Diversity & Inclusion as well as others through Thought Leadership.
I studied Law and the LPC, before working as a Paralegal in Personal injury and later Projects and Finance. I moved into legal recruitment and have more than a decade of experience working for some of the leading agencies where I built and led teams, before making the move in house to Irwin Mitchell.
What inspired you to join Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell’s wonderful culture and flexibility are well recognised in the legal market. I joined the firm following maternity leave and at this stage of my life, these are two factors that are invaluable to me. IM are undoubtedly one of the best firms in the country, so I am very proud to be a part of it.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
By helping to build amazing teams we are making a real difference, not only to the firm, but also to our clients and what we are able to offer to them.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I am part of an extremely talented small team - we have come together from fairly similar backgrounds, but are now focussing our energies into this fantastic firm where colleagues are genuinely made to feel valued. When you are selling a firm to potential new colleagues, the job is made so much easier when the values align with your own. IM’s ‘flexible by choice’ policy means I can choose where I work, which has been so valuable during my transition to “working mum”!.
What do you do away from the office?
I live in the countryside with my husband, little boy and two dogs, so we enjoy plenty of walks, taking in the local scenery. I have been a keen horse rider since I was 2 years old, and I compete across the country with my horse through the summer months with the aim of qualifying for the Royal International and Horse of the Year Show each season. When time permits, I love to travel and - as a self-confessed foodie - I am working my way through the Michelin starred restaurants.
