Biography
I am a Solicitor-Advocate specialising in civil litigation and procedure. Since January 2023 I have led the firm's in-house advocacy team, representing our clients at court hearings and inquests as well as advising solicitors on law and procedure. Before then, I was a medical negligence solicitor representing injured claimants and families in claims relating to medical treatment.
I undertook advanced advocacy training and assessments to become a Solicitor-Advocate. The qualification means that I can represent clients in the higher courts in England and Wales.
What inspired you to get into law?
I decided that I wanted to study Law while completing my A-levels. I was fascinated by the speed at which the law changes, and the effect those changes have on every individual in society. While studying Law at university, I decided that I wanted to become a solicitor so that I could use the knowledge and understanding that I had gained to help other people.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Contributing to the many positive outcomes which we achieve for our clients, by assisting and advising the legal experts who are working on their cases. I also enjoy developing others and creating a hardworking and productive team.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
It’s rewarding and enjoyable to be part of a team of who has the needs and goals of our firm’s clients at the centre of everything they do, and the expertise to achieve the best outcomes.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work I enjoy running, badminton and long walks with my husband and two dogs. I have recently taken up photography.
