Biography
I’m a Solicitor in the Serious Injury team and I typically represent clients who have suffered severe injuries as the result of road traffic accidents, accidents at work, or by any other means.
I specialise in helping clients who have suffered traumatic brain injury, polytrauma and spinal injuries access the rehabilitation that they need, as well as securing the settlements that they need to help them carry on with their lives. I have also acted in a number of fatal accident claims supporting families through both the civil claim but also at Inquests.
I joined the Manchester office as a trainee in August 2015 and spent time in a variety of different departments over the next two years. I qualified into the Serious Injury team in September 2017 and was promoted to Senior Associate Solicitor in March 2024. I am a member of the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers (APIL) and secretary for Warrington branch of Headway.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was fortunate to be able to do a number of work experience placements at a variety of law firms during sixth form and university. During these placements, I saw that a career in the law was both challenging and extremely rewarding. It’s a dynamic industry and I enjoy being able to come up with solutions in order to help clients.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
It's extremely rewarding to see the positive effect that the right rehabilitation can have on seriously injured people. I enjoy working closely with our clients and their families and building relationships with them to assist them through the legal process. We work with some clients for a number of years and it's always gratifying to see the progress that they can make with the right support.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I'm incredibly proud to work at the largest personal injury firm in the UK. I've had the opportunity to train under experts in the field and I now have the privilege to work alongside them, helping our clients achieve the best possible outcome.
As a team, we work in a collaborative way to make sure that our clients’ needs are met appropriately. This also means that I can continue to learn from some of the most experienced solicitors in the industry in a very supportive environment.
Alongside our work, Irwin Mitchell also encourages colleagues to support local charities, either by supporting fundraising efforts or by using some of our time to volunteer on charity committees.
What do you do away from the office?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with friends and family, travelling, reading and going for long walks. I also chair the Irwin Mitchell Manchester office’s charity committee.
Testimonials

"I thought the care and consideration I received from Harriet who helped me with my claim was excellent she was upstanding until my claim was settled" - Elaine Fitzgerald, 5* Trustpilot review
"No amount of money/compensation could give me back what I’ve lost and I’d give it all back tomorrow if I could go back to the life I had pre-accident. But we can’t live like that, we have to get on with it and try to move forward as best we can. Irwin Mitchell’s Solicitors have certainly helped me with this and especially Keith Cundall and Harriet Trail, who have done me proud and became very good friends throughout my case. I know still today if I need help with anything then all I have to do is send Harriet an email and almost instantly I'll get a reply and assistance. I wouldn’t be as far on as I am now if it wasn’t for my Solicitors, My Friends. Thank you to all concerned in my case." - Client feedback
