Biography
I have practised exclusively in family law for over 15 years. I spent the first seven years of my career at Central London law firms where I gained invaluable experience.
My work is centred on family finances, including complex multi-million pound financial provision cases. I also have a particular interest in children cases, and I gained useful insight whilst volunteering as a governor for a local school for several years. As well as bringing legal expertise, I strive to build a caring and supportive relationship with my clients, guiding them through the most overwhelming times of their lives. I assess each client’s individual situation and tailor an approach that is suited to achieve the best result for them.
My client base includes business people, professionals and homemakers, among others. I occasionally advise Eastern European individuals as I have an understanding of their cultures and speak Bulgarian fluently. I have particular expertise in:
-
Divorce, separation and relationship breakdown
- Financial claims in respect of properties, other assets, debts, pensions and maintenance
- Occupation of the family home and domestic violence
- Disputes relating to all aspects of the upbringing of children
- Cohabitation disputes
- Pre-nuptial, post-nuptial and cohabitation agreements
I was ranked as a Rising Star both in The UK Legal 500, 2023 and 2024.
What inspired you to get into law?
It was while shadowing a lawyer during a work placement in London that my eyes opened to a legal career path. I remember very clearly having to deliver some urgent documents on a case he was working on, and I was hooked!
I had come to realise that as family lawyers, we are in a unique position to make a difference and have a positive impact on clients at a very difficult time in their lives.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Understandably, when people are going through divorce or separation, emotions are often running high. Striving to reduce conflict, bring rationality back into the equation and facilitate calm and constructive discussions is key.
It is certainly very fulfilling when this results in finding a solution and achieving a great outcome for our clients and their families.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Irwin Mitchell is a great place to work at and I felt supported and a valued member of the team from day one. The firm offers a wealth of experience in a wide range of areas which allows us to co-work with colleagues from other departments. This provides a seamless and holistic service to clients.
We pride ourselves on offering not only exceptional legal expertise, but also an understanding of the family dynamics to make sure that matters are dealt with in a dignified, empathetic and compassionate manner.
What do you do away from the office?
My pride and joy is my young son who keeps me busy and on my toes when I am not at work! With my family, we absolutely enjoy the great outdoors and never miss an opportunity to cycle in the New Forest, sail in the Solent or brave the ski slopes in the Alps.
I love all things Italian and in the summer, you can often find me travelling through Tuscany soaking up the art, architecture and beautiful natural scenery.

"All my work with the Hampshire office has been with Eugenie Taylor; I can’t recommend Eugenie highly enough. She’s particularly good with difficult clients in that she’s empathetic, always willing to listen but then doesn’t shy away from providing robust (but always realistic) advice. She also has a great skill for setting out a client’s perspective in correspondence so that even the most dubious points sound reasonable. If I had a friend who was very nervous about the prospect of consulting a family lawyer I’d have no hesitation in sending them to her!" - Legal 500, 2023
