Biography
I am an Associate Solicitor in the family team specialising in all areas of family work.
I have experience dealing with private children matters including child arrangements and relocation issues, including international relocation cases and also international abduction matters.
I am also experienced in dealing with financial matters involving both modest assets and high-net-worth clients. I support clients through the whole of their case from initial negotiations right through to final hearing. I always focus on achieving the best financial result for my client while also trying to work collaboratively and amicably with the other party.
I understand that relationship breakdown, getting divorced, or dealing with issues involving your children can be very stressful. I'm alive to that and seek to give clients appropriate support and guidance throughout the case.
What inspired you to get into law?
A career in law is challenging and I enjoy being challenged to find solutions to client queries every day. This is what particularly attracted me to family work as every case: every person and every family is different. I like finding unique practical solutions which suit an individual client’s needs and expectations. No day is ever the same as there cannot be a one size fits all solution.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The vast majority of the cases that I deal with stem from something negative, either a breakdown in a relationship or a dispute about children. Clients don't want to and rarely foresee themselves needing help from a family solicitor. It's my job to try and make the experience as positive as it can be to help my clients move forward with their lives and build a new future.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I was a trainee at Irwin Mitchell and have stayed with the firm after qualifying. I very much enjoy the collaborative way in which the firm works and the vast array of services that I can offer my clients, without having to seek external advice.
I can get help from my colleagues in the business legal services teams if a case involves complex business structures. Alternatively, I can seek advice from our asset management experts if I need to get an idea of investment forecasting. This access to experts in various fields really does set Irwin Mitchell apart.
What do you do away from the office?
I am a keen gym goer and can be regularly be found either in the gym or competing in fitness competitions.
