Biography
I am a Senior Associate in the Medical Negligence department in Irwin Mitchell’s Manchester office. I have been qualified for 13 years and specialise in birth injury, brain injury, spinal, cardiac and renal claims. As a former nurse and Sister on an Intensive Care Unit, I am able to use the medical knowledge gained during my years of nursing to the benefit of my clients. Every client has individual needs and their wishes are at the forefront of my mind when progressing their claim. I am committed throughout the life of the claim to achieving the best possible outcome for my clients.
What Inspired You To Get Into Law?
During my RGN (Registered General Nurse) training one of the most stimulating lectures I attended was on Medical Law and Ethics. My interest in this subject remained throughout my career as nurse. By studying the law and specialising in medical negligence, I knew that the experience and knowledge gained as a nurse would not be lost and would enable me to combine both and the prospect of never having to do night duty again was also quite appealing!
What Is The Most Rewarding Aspect Of Your Role?
The most rewarding aspect of my role is being able to make my clients’ lives more tolerable. This could be by investigating their claim and being able to provide an explanation and clarity to how they came to be injured. Or it could be by securing compensation in order for clients to access the necessary therapies, equipment and accommodation to assist with their rehabilitation and for the rest of their lives.
What Do You Like About Working At Irwin Mitchell?
Working with a team of dedicated, talented and experienced colleagues whose primary focus is to achieve the best that they can for their clients.

"I contacted Dina and right from our first contact to our last her care, dedication and empathy were above and beyond. Dina's team were absolutely focussed on working through the lies, dishonesty and sheer arrogance of the NHS trust as a whole entity. Finally, after 3+ years of hard work the trust agreed it had failed my Dad. I can not recommend Irwin Mitchell highly enough."- 5* Trustpilot review
"We were allocated, Mrs Dina Lambourne, who from day one took the upmost interest in our claim, she explained how they would go about building a case against the Hospital Trust for medical negligence and what would be required from both Irwin Mitchell and ourselves. Over the 5+ years it took to settle we had an almost family relationship with Dina. She went out of her way to keep us informed on everything that was happening with: several home visits, dozens of phone calls, emails, reports and letters even late into the evening when she'd finished work. I can only say in conclusion, we couldn't have had a better firm than Irwin Mitchell or a better solicitor than Dina Lambourne." - 5* Trustpilot review
