Biography
I am an Associate Solicitor in the Private Client Advisory team in the Leeds office. I have extensive experience in this area, having specialised in this type of work since 2005 and I am a full member of Solicitors for the Elderly and an affiliate STEP member. Since joining Irwin Mitchell I have specialised in estate administration (probate) with cross border elements, such as foreign assets and non-domiciled beneficiaries.
As a team we have many years of expertise of dealing with cross-jurisdiction estate administration and we find our role in these matters is to have an overview of the whole project and to manage the various jurisdictions, and their legal representatives. We pride ourselves on being able to negotiate solutions to complex situations across many jurisdictions and working professional to professional with local lawyers to obtain the required results for our clients and their families.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I have worked at different sized firms and was drawn to the excellent level of expertise in the team at Irwin Mitchell and the opportunity to spend more time on more complex and interesting areas of private client law.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Working as a team with clients and their families to achieve their aims.
What inspired you to get into law?
In my late 20s I wanted a career change and to spend my working life being involved in people's lives on a professional level. My research led me to consider law and my methodical and efficient personality seemed a good fit, and I wasn't wrong!
What do you do away from the office?
When I'm not working or looking after my family I spend a lot of time exercising; running, playing squash, spin classes etc. I also involve myself in local community and environmental groups.
