Biography
I work in Employment law because I love working with people and I care about my client's problems.
If I'm working with you I'm always looking to bring added-value to the table. I aim to achieve my clients’ objectives efficiently, taking a practical approach when resolving issues to (try to!) take the stress out of their legal matter. I get to achieve justice for my clients and I love what I do.
I specialise in advising individual employees and senior executives on a range of Employment and Professional Discipline issues including:
- All aspects of termination of employment and negotiating exits
- Redundancy
- Whistleblowing
- Settlement agreements
- Disciplinary and grievance matters
- Restrictive covenants and contracts of employment
- Claims in the Employment Tribunal, litigation strategy and settlement
- Professional and regulatory matters including disciplinary issues surrounding fitness to practice
I have a particular interest in discrimination, especially disability discrimination and mental health matters. I’m passionate about mental wellbeing and I’m a trained Peer Supporter with the charity LawCare.
I’m also a mentor to junior solicitors internally, I co-chair the IM Junior Professionals network in the London office and provide 'Pro Bono' advice at clinics with local law centres outside of work.
What inspired you to get into law?
I wanted to have a career where I could help people in difficult situations.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Supporting my clients through difficult and stressful periods and helping them feel heard. Reaching a good settlement result for a client is also very satisfying.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
The people. Everyone is very down to earth and supportive. Irwin Mitchell is a big firm with a top reputation, yet it still maintains an authentic and intentional approach in everything it does. We do live up to our “expert hand, human touch” motto.
What do you do away from the office?
I love swimming, cooking, eating at restaurants, drinking lots of Nespresso coffee and spending time with family, friends and my little dog.
