Biography
I work in the International Serious Injury Team in Manchester. I have 15 years experience in litigation and I’ve focused on international injury matters for almost 8 years.
I deal with serious injury claims where the accident occurred abroad (whilst on holiday or working etc). I also represent foreign nationals who suffered an injury whilst visiting England and Wales.
Typically, my cases are accidents in resorts, road traffic accidents, accidents in public place, on a plane or on a ship. Serious injury cases can involve serious fractures, spinal and spinal cord injury, brain injury and even fatal injuries.
I also deal with medical negligence claims where the surgery or treatment took place abroad, with a focus on cosmetic surgery.
What inspired you to get into law?
My interest in Law was always there. I was always drawn to it and when it came to choosing a degree I knew it would be Law. Academically, law is so diverse and challenging. Practically, I hoped that I could use that knowledge to help people, to make life easier or better for them and challenge bad decisions or injustice.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The client focus and the ability to spend real time with my clients, getting to know them and understanding their needs. I love that I have the opportunity to help clients with those needs, not just by getting them compensation, but also supporting them and their families and improving their quality of life.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I love that the firm is people focused, whether that be about clients or staff. I love that I work in a team of lovely people, who are also experts in their field. I love that I have true flexibility over how, when and where I work, ensuring that my needs are met too.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy watching Rugby League (my beloved Salford Red Devils) and travel a lot (mainly up and down the M62) during the season to see them play. I’m close to my family and I like to spend time with them, my partner and my friends.
I enjoy baking, walking, reading and absolutely love a true crime documentary. My favourite thing is going on trips with my partner - my favourite trip ever is still the road trip we took to Stockholm in 2014, in my little red fiesta!
