Biography
I qualified as a solicitor in 2019 and I have worked in medical negligence law for over 10 years. As part of Lauren Hurney’s specialist team, I deal with complex medical negligence claims. I represent claimants with a range of injuries but have particular experience in claims for orthopaedic injuries and amputations, obstetrics & gynaecological injuries and fatal accidents (including inquest representation).
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I am very proud to be part of a firm that offers an exceptional service to our clients and that cares about our clients and their wellbeing through the claims process. It is a pleasure to work not only with experts within the medical negligence team. Our firm works cohesively and with both compassion and integrity.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
By working in this area, I understand how valuable empathy, dedication, trust and fight are to our clients and the work that we carry out. I take a lot of pride in the work that I do for my clients, and I ensure that my client’s trust my work and trust me and that they know that I value each of their experiences.
Pursing a medical negligence claim can be demanding and sometimes distressing for clients, in addition to what they have already endured, therefore I go the extra mile in supporting them and handling their cases with skill, professionalism and thoughtfulness.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted to pursue a career in law, specifically in an area involving helping people and making a difference. Working in medical negligence has been both a rewarding and an immensely important part of my life. Being able to support clients during extremely difficult times in their lives whilst delivering excellent results has been a privilege.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy writing in my downtime. I have self-published 3 children's picture books in the last 3 years, with all proceeds of sales donated to charities close to my heart.
