Biography
I’m a paralegal in the Court of Protection team covering Bristol, Southampton and Cardiff offices.
I joined Irwin Mitchell in June 2021, and have been working in the Court of Protection department, specialising in property and financial affairs.
I am experienced in dealing with a variety of applications to the Court of Protection, as well as assisting with the day-to-day management of the property and affairs of those who lack capacity to manage these themselves. I also assist in the management of personal injury trusts.
As part of my role, I regularly work collaboratively with case managers, financial advisors, litigation specialists, and other third-party professionals, to provide support to clients.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
Working alongside colleagues who share the same values and drive to provide an excellent service for our clients.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspect is seeing how our involvement helps clients who have experienced life-altering events, helping them to navigate difficult circumstances and support their rehabilitation.
What inspired you to get into law?
I was interested in law from a very early age. I viewed law as a way to help and be a voice for others. I was drawn towards people-focused areas and have found that Court of Protection work is extremely challenging and rewarding.
What do you do away from the office?
When not working, I can usually be found spending time with my husband and our two dogs, either at home or exploring around the South West. When time permits, I also like to return to my native Ireland to visit with friends and family.
