Biography
I am a Senior Associate in the medical negligence team. I have over 20 years experience specialising in medical negligence and have worked at Irwin Mitchell since 2018.
I have helped people affected by a wide range of issues, including: birth injuries, neonatal injuries, cauda equina syndrome, surgical errors and delayed diagnosis.
What inspired you to get into law?
I decided on a career in law because I enjoy problem solving and a challenge but also because I wanted to make a practical and real difference to people’s lives. Medical negligence seemed like the ideal choice.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
The most rewarding aspects of my job is helping people achieve the outcome they want from a claim.
For those who’ve been seriously injured, this might be securing compensation which will improve their quality of life and make a difference to their future. Equally, it might be about getting an explanation for what went wrong, getting an apology or about improving patient safety for others.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I enjoy being part of a national team and being surrounded by experts in their field. We are also fortunate to have access to specialists in other areas of law such as Public Law or Court of Protection. We can approach these specialists as well as many others for advice to support our clients.
What do you do away from the office?
Away from the office I am a taxi driver/ social secretary to my 2 sons but when I get time I enjoy cooking and hiking.
