Our legal experts dusted off their bikes as part of a month-long fundraising challenge for a leading sepsis charity.
Throughout September, more than 60 colleagues took part in Cycle4Sepsis, organised by the UK Sepsis Trust to help those affected by the condition. The team has raised more than £550 after cycling approximately 9,400 miles.
Cycle4Sepsis is now in its ninth year, and fundraising is more important than ever. The money we've raised will go towards helping sepsis sufferers to access the support and rehabilitation they need. And it’ll allow the UK Sepsis Trust to continue raising awareness of the dangers of sepsis amongst the public and health care professionals alike.
In the UK alone, 245,000 people are affected by sepsis every year, with at least 48,000 losing their lives.
Symptoms of sepsis include slurred speech or confusion, extreme shivering or muscle pain, passing no urine in a day, severe breathlessness, a feeling like you’re going to die, and mottled or discoloured skin.
