Ute Mueller Adds Considerable Expertise To Law Firm’s Position In The Anglo-German Market
Leading law firm Irwin Mitchell has expanded its international team by appointing Ute Mueller as a Corporate partner specialising in Anglo-German mergers and acquisitions (M&A).
Based at Irwin Mitchell’s London office and joining the existing London corporate team, Ute Mueller brings over 20 years of experience gained in-house and in private practice.
She has a strong reputation in acting for international businesses that are already present or entering the UK market for M&A work, venture capital, and joint ventures. Her clients range from entrepreneurs and start-ups to global brands.
Ute, a dual-qualified lawyer in Germany and England & Wales and a member of the Berlin Bar, has joined Irwin Mitchell from Duane Morris LLP. At Irwin Mitchell, Ute will further strengthen the firm’s German desk, which is led by employment law partner Sybille Steiner. This desk is a crucial part of Irwin Mitchell’s broader international offering.

The firm’s international team, led by partner Bryan Bletso, is an active member of strategic international networks. Notably, it joined First Law International in October 2018 as part of its international growth strategy and has since become a key member of the network, highlighted by its appointment to the Advisory Board and Bryan Bletso recently being appointed as chairperson.
Additionally, Irwin Mitchell is a member of the Commonwealth Enterprise & Investment Council, a network of approximately 100 business and government members from across the Commonwealth.
Irwin Mitchell recently welcomed commercial partner Pete Maguire to its Birmingham office. The firm also recruited commercial dispute partner Garon Anthony and commercial litigation and arbitration partner David Vaughan. It boosted its Planning and Environment team with new partner, Keith Davidson, and strengthened its Real Estate offering with Construction partner, Alex Delin.
Furthermore, it announced the addition of seven regulatory lawyers from Ince & Co, led by partners Philip Somarakis and Colette Kelly.
Irwin Mitchell recently passed £300m annual revenue for the first time and increased profit before tax year on year. Revenue from international activity grew by 18% and the firm added 14 new Partners last financial year.
