August Also Saw Law Firm Welcome 54 New Trainees
Law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced it’s retaining 39 trainees as newly qualified (NQ) solicitors across all areas of the business.
The number of trainees who are staying with the firm represents an 87% retention rate for the 2021 cohort of NQ solicitors.
The firm’s retention rates have remained consistently high over recent years, despite the impact of national lockdowns and represent another strong performance by the trainees and their supervisors alike, with figures comparing well with an industry average of c.80%.
Marissa Sanders, Head of Early Careers at Irwin Mitchell, said: “I would like to pay tribute to all our trainees and their supervisors this year. All have worked extremely hard and to see so many staying with us shows the strength of our approach.
“Our Trainees represent an integral part of our early careers strategy and many of our partners began their legal careers as trainees at Irwin Mitchell. We look forward to seeing our new trainees following in their footsteps. And wish them every success in their future careers.”
Irwin Mitchell also welcomed a new cohort of 54 trainees who started on 14 August, spread across 11 of the firm’s regional offices, where they’ll undertake four seats over the next two years, providing them with a broad range of experience. The legal teams welcoming trainees are: Complex Personal Injury, Family, Private Client, Corporate and Finance, Commercial Advisory and Disputes, Court of Protection and Public Law, Property, and General Counsel.
Earlier this year, Irwin Mitchell announced nine new partner promotions and last month was named as one of the best places for women to work in the UK by the Great Place To Work initiative.
