Law Firm’s Chief Commercial Officer To Speak At ESG Keynote
National law firm Irwin Mitchell has announced that it is sponsoring The Lawyer magazine’s In-House Financial Services Conference on 29-30 June.
Designed to meet the needs of in-house lawyers working in financial services, the two-day virtual event will deliver webinars, roundtable discussions and themed networking sessions, focusing on both growth opportunities and potential pitfalls as the sector adjusts to the post pandemic world.
The keynote event on day one, ‘How can the financial services sector lead on ESG?’, will be moderated by Irwin Mitchell’s Chief Commercial Officer, Vicky Brackett.
Vicky, along with several other speakers including Alexis Alexander from Liberis and Timo Matthias Spitzer from Banco Santander, will consider how the pandemic has provided an opportunity for legal teams to deliver a sustainable operating model.
The discussion will also examine how far ESG is integral to financial performance and its potential to enhance market position, promote brand reputation, while preparing for regulatory developments.
Day two will cover ‘Compliance, Conduct Risk and Brexit’ and how firms can both understand the new regulatory landscape and ensure that a combination of Brexit and coronavirus does not see things slip through the cracks when ‘shaping the new normal’ in 2021 and beyond.
Expert Opinion
“It’s a pleasure to be both sponsoring and speaking at this year’s event. Irwin Mitchell does a lot of work with in-house teams and this is an opportunity to engage with the legal community, explore some our experiences in delivering responsible business, and how it has driven purposeful change for us and can for those in the financial services sector.
“Our responsible business strategy enabled us to emerge from the pandemic in a strong position, allowing us to offer the practical support our clients and local communities needed, while arming our own colleagues with the tools and help to succeed in their roles.
“It’s a message that can benefit many in the sector and reaching this corporate audience is important in promoting the value of responsible business and as a key part of our overall growth strategy. I’m looking forward to discussing the issues with delegates and listening to their views as we all look to emerge stronger from a difficult 12 months for many in the legal profession.”
