Irwin Mitchell Continues To Support UKIE Member Helpline
Having successfully helped UK Interactive Entertainment (UKIE) offer its members guidance on the COVID-19 crisis, Irwin Mitchell is now providing legal advice on Brexit to UKIE members.
The national law firm is sponsoring the UKIE hotline and offering initial free advice on Brexit issues in the wake of the Brexit TCA agreement. UKIE is seeing an increasing number of queries after the UK left the EU from members and is working to help in understanding what the changes mean for them and to address any ongoing challenges they may be facing.
A not-for-profit organisation representing the UK games and interactive entertainment industry, UKIE represents businesses of all sizes, from start-ups to multinational developers, publishers and service companies.
The new hotline has been launched in tandem with a suite of videos aimed at providing additional information on all things Brexit and what it means for UKIE’s 500+ membership, who work across various platforms, including online, mobile apps, consoles, PC, eSports, VR and AR.
Expert Opinion
“As during the early days of the pandemic, we are delighted to be supporting the UKIE Hotline, providing advice on what remains a complex subject, despite the conclusion of the UK-EU trade deal at the end of last year.
“COVID and Brexit represent a double whammy for businesses struggling to make sense of a changed landscape but that doesn’t mean that there are no opportunities for growth in 2021.
“The games industry is certainly well-placed to continue its growth and we are looking forward to playing our part and helping UKIE members over the initial hurdles and Brexit barriers as they and the wider video games industry look to the future.” Laura Harper - Partner
