Driver Involved Charged With Causing Death By Careless Driving
The trial of a motorist involved in a fatal road traffic collision on the A51 Leasingham bypass last year is set to get underway at Lincoln Crown Court next week.
David Teasdale, 28 from Grantham, Lincolnshire, is charged with causing death by careless driving in relation to the incident which occurred on 5 July 2018, when a Vauxhall Vectra he was driving collided with a motorcycle being ridden by Peter Howard.
Mr Howard, 53 from Lincoln, was killed in the crash, while his passenger Claire Rowbottom, 46, from Manchester, suffered a range of catastrophic injuries and also required an above-the-knee amputation to her right leg following the incident.
The criminal trial is set to begin on Monday 30 September and is expected to last for four days.
