Property Move Coincides With Charity’s 30th Anniversary
The Sandwell Asian Family Support Service (SAFS) has relocated to the Windmill Community Centre in Smethwick with the assistance of the real estate team at law firm Irwin Mitchell.
The charity has agreed to take a lease of the community centre on Messenger Road from Sandwell Metropolitan Borough Council. SAFS will be moving from their current base on Fenton Street.
SAFS provides a range of quality care and support services for South Asian children, young people and adults who have a disability. It supports the whole family and also provides services for parents, carers and guardians.
Chief Executive at SAFS, Parpinder Dhatt, said: “This year is significant for SAFS as it marks our 30th anniversary. Our move to a larger building is also an important milestone particularly as it will provide so many more opportunities for the children and adults with disabilities that we support.
“I am delighted with the property advice that Irwin Mitchell have provided for the charity for free. The move will bring many advantages to the local community and thanks to Irwin Mitchell’s kind offer, we will be able to reinvest more of the money that we raise through fundraising back into our charitable work.
