Our new Private Financial Dispute Resolution Service - Helping couples settle cases and avoid costly and stressful court hearings

International and HNW clients dealing with a separation or divorce are increasingly looking to resolve matters out of court because of the considerable cost, delays and lack of privacy afforded by court proceedings. There are several options to help separating couples stay out of court, including mediation, arbitration and collaborative law.

We are committed to offering a full range of these services and can help clients understand the alternatives available and choose the right solution for them.

We are extremely proud to add a Private Financial Dispute Resolution (FDR) service to the options available for our clients.

This service is ideal for a separating couple who have exchanged disclosure, but need some additional help to reach a resolution, which is particularly useful for international families were there may be complex assets to deal with or complex family dynamics.

The new service offers separating or divorcing couples the opportunity to have an informed, expert indication of the correct legal outcome of their financial remedies claims at a date and time of their choosing. It replicates the FDR which would take place at Court, but without the delay and cost of Court proceedings.

Further information on our new service

Our new service is offered by Toby Hales, a partner in our family team who has been practicing family law exclusively since 1996. Toby sits as a Deputy District Judge, which means that he conducts in-Court FDRs on a regular basis.

At a private FDR, Toby will be available for an entire day to consider the case, offer an indication of how a Court is likely to determine the case, assist with any negotiations that take place, and hopefully approve a fair and final settlement.
