Richest man to divorce

After 25 years, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and his wife MacKenzie are set to divorce. In a joint statement the pair said "After a long period of loving exploration and trial separation, we have decided to divorce and continue our shared lives as friends." It seems they are going to be amicable and recognise they will have shared lives in the future.  

It will likely be the biggest divorce settlement ever, given the assets they have accumulated together. A high-net-worth divorce can be complicated in reaching a settlement; the assets may be held offshore or under trust for any children they have together.  The settlement will depend on how the company assets are structured and in whose name they are held.

They may well have had a pre-nuptial or post-nuptial agreement drawn up and it is usual for such wealthy and famous to have a non-disclosure clause about their deal, so we may never find out the details.

It seems however they have decided to keep matters as amicable as possible given the comment that they acknowledge they will remain in each other's lives.  This can only be positive now they have to embark upon reaching an agreement about distributing their fortune they have accrued over the 25 years.  

Will it be an equal 50% share after such a long marriage, or will Jeff Bezos seek to argue over the years he has brought more to the partnership and seek a departure from equality?
