Pay rises for some
The National Minimum Wage increases every year, normally in October and this October is no exception with the standard adult rate for the National Minimum Wage increasing from £6.50 to £6.70 as of 1 October 2015.
Employers should also be aware that as a result of the July 2015 Budget, an enhanced National Minimum Wage will come into effect for workers aged 25 and over as of April 2016, the national living wage. Employers may therefore want to start planning early to ensure that salaries accord with the national living wage for those workers affected early next year.
From Thursday 1 October 2015, the adult rate of the National Minimum Wage (NMW) will rise by 20 pence from £6.50 to £6.70 per hour, as recommended by the Low Pay Commission (LPC) in March 2015 this year. ”
