Our asbestos solicitors have secured a six-figure compensation sum for a widow who lost her husband to an asbestos-related disease.
Mr B, who developed the cancer mesothelioma, was employed as a carpenter by the firm T Holdoway & Sons Ltd between 1971 and 1981.
During this time period he regularly made fire doors from sheets of asbestos, and worked on a number of sites (including schools and housing estates) where he cut and fixed asbestos sheets.
After being diagnosed with mesothelioma, a type of cancer closely linked to asbestos, Mr B contacted us himself with a detailed statement of his exposure to asbestos while working at the firm.
Sadly, he passed away shortly after this, and therefore we supported his widow, Mrs B, in continuing the claim on his behalf.
She was later awarded a six-figure sum as compensation.
