Our Serious Injury solicitors have secured a compensation settlement for AB, a client who was involved in a car accident.
AB was 17 when the accident happened, and suffered damage to his wrist as well as a brain injury. As a result, he still deals with changes in his personality, behaviour and emotional state, as well as fatigue.
AB asked our Serious Injury solicitors to look into what happened to him.
While the driver of the other vehicle admitted fault for the accident, AB also knew that the driver of the vehicle he was in had been drinking. We were able to agree split liability in AB’s favour.
We took detailed statements from AB’s family members and colleagues to show the severity of his brain injury, and his ongoing care needs. We also used a range of expert evidence in relation to AB’s care and Court of Protection needs.
Our solicitors obtained interim payments that paid for AB to begin a full rehabilitation package while negotiations continued.
We were able to negotiate a seven-figure settlement for AB, which included the above interim payments.
AB has also asked us to help manage his financial affairs as his Professional Property and Affairs Deputy.
Hema Rana, Associate Solicitor in our Serious Injury team said:
“The settlement represents a pleasing result for our client. It will provide him with the security that his future needs will be looked after for the rest of his life. We are delighted to achieve this result for our client, in what was a challenging case, and that he can now move on with his life.”
