Biography
My specialty is cases that arise from childhood abuse. I’ve worked for survivors that suffered all forms of abuse as children in both scheme work, and civil litigation. The cases that I have been involved with are often against organisations such as, local authorities, schools, religious organisations and children’s homes.
I have previously worked for the Scottish Child Abuse Inquiry where I gained an insight into a variety of institutions, before moving to private practice and personal injury.
I am originally from New Zealand where I have been admitted as a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of New Zealand and am currently working towards my Scots Law qualification.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
It's a privilege to be trusted with the stories of survivors. Nothing is more rewarding that being able to help in providing a sense of justice that may previously have been unobtainable through the criminal process for various reasons.
Additionally, being able to help with access to therapeutic services and seeing the impact that this can have.
What inspired you to get into law?
I have always wanted a career where I am able to help people.
