Biography
I specialise in personal injury claims for claimants that have contracted an illness while on a package holiday abroad. The illnesses range from gastric illnesses to legionnaires disease. Some of the claimants go on to develop complications such as psychiatric issues or chronic fatigue.
I also act for claimants that contract gastric illnesses as a result of consuming contaminated food in restaurants in the United Kingdom or have contracted legionnaires disease following a stay in a hotel in the United Kingdom.
What inspired you to get into law?
Law affects every part of our lives from driving a car, buying and selling, being employed or even dealing with an injury. I wanted a career where I helped people with the day to day issues affecting their lives. I find law interesting as it is ever-changing and I feel like you can make a real difference to people’s lives.
What is the most rewarding aspect of your role?
Helping people deal with what happened to them and getting them the help that they need.
What do you like about working at Irwin Mitchell?
I like working for Irwin Mitchell as it is a firm that genuinely cares about the client. Irwin Mitchell don't just help a client get compensation but also help with the rehabilitation process. No issue is too big or small.
I also like the fact that as a firm they are extremely supportive of their employees whether it is helping them deal with personal issues or finding alternative ways to progress career-wise. I work in a team where everyone is really supportive and gets on well with each other - I enjoy going into work every day.
What do you do away from the office?
I enjoy reading, I have over 300 books! I read anything that I find interesting. I am a bit of a homebody so nothing makes me happier than spending time with my family and cooking up a nice meal.
